Three principles of Universal Design for Learning 1) To support recognition learning, provide multiple, flexible methods of presentation. 2) To support stategic learning, provide multiple, flexible methods of expression and apprenticeship. 3) To support affective learning, provide multiple, flexible options for engagement.
Two changes in your teaching to reach all learners in the Digital Age 1) In future all assigned homework, where possible, can be done on the computer or on paper 2) I wil incorporate more use of the laptops when presenting new material. 3) I will use the color principles from UDL to make my SmartBoard lessons more visually accessable to the visually impaired or color blindness.
One big idea to implement "On Monday" I will inport the text we are working with in the text book into Wordle and post it on the Smartboard. I will ask kids to give the English equivalents of as many of the big words as they can in one minute.
